New on The Show

Chris Stapleton

“Devil Named Music”  - ”Modern outlaw in the vein of Waylon Jennings .. a lovely earthy album, really tuneful, great tracks on there” - Marie Crichton BBC Radio Shropshire

Record Label: Universal Nashville
Current Location: Nashville, TN

Kentucky-born singer, songwriter and producer Chris Stapleton is one of Nashville’s most revered craftsmen, with a 15-year career that includes No. 1 hits, Grammy Award nominations, feature film contributions, the respect of his peers and, now, a new album.

In January 2015 at Nashville’s historic RCA Studio A Stapleton treated an intimate group of country music journalists and execs to a listening party for his forthcoming solo debut album, TRAVELLER. With the whiskey flowing and hot-chicken sliders making the rounds, Chris spoke briefly before unleashing Traveller’s whiskey-soaked soulfullness. Chris is the former frontman of the Grammy-nominated SteelDrivers, as well as the songwriter behind 5 No.1 hits, “Drink A Beer” (Luke Bryan; co-written with Jim Beavers), “Never Wanted Nothing More” (Kenny Chesney), “Love’s Gonna Make It Alright” (George Strait), “Come Back Song” (Darius Rucker) and “Your Man” (Josh Turner).

As one of Nashville's most revered craftsmen, his 15 year career also includes 3 Grammy Award nominations, feature film contributions and songwriting credits that span all genres and artists from Adele to Jason Aldean and he’s recorded with everyone from Miranda Lambert to Don Williams..
He doesn't need to look, doesn't want to write, and doesn't have the ability to sound mainstream because he is the unique voice we need exactly when we need it.
Capitol's Little Big Town added a spring leg to The Pain Killer Tour which kicked off March 5th in Savannah, GA. and Mercury's Stapleton opened the 12-city tour.
Stapleton released his highly anticipated debut TRAVELLER on May 5. The Mercury Records Nashville release is the rare mainstream country album eagerly awaited by fans on both sides of the dial. The first single and title cut from "Traveller," is a journeyman's song with a blend of Country, Southern Rock, Americana, and Blues.

Jellyman’s Daughter

“Anna” – Very nicely put together album, very professional, love her voice” - Marie Crichton BBC Radio Shropshire

Genre: Alt. Acoustic
Band Members: Emily Kelly (Vocals, Guitar) and Graham Coe (Vocals, Cello, Guitar)
Home Town: Edinburgh
Influences: The Civil Wars, Crooked Still, Punch Brothers, Old Crow Medicine Show, Sarah Jarosz, The Steeldrivers, Radiohead, Jeff Buckley, Beatles, Turin Brakes, Nickel Creek, Lake Street Dive

"The Jellyman's Daughter sound like they've come down from the same cold mountain as The Civil Wars or Grammy-winning duo Robert Plant and Alison Krauss... [Graham] can make his instrument as percussive as a drum, as grounded as a bass or as sweet as a fiddle... when Kelly and Coe sing together, their harmonies squeeze the heart." - The Herald Scotland
After making each other’s acquaintance in 2012, Emily and Graham soon found a unique connection in music, staying up until the early hours playing songs together, and occasionally making a recording or two. Not too long after that, they decided to found The Jellyman’s Daughter, beginning a journey from 3 hour gigs in small Edinburgh pubs, through busking at the Fringe Festival, writing/recording/producing their first EP, playing on the Danny Kyle Stage at Celtic Connections, showcasing at the Wide Days convention and Perth’s Words & Music Festival, achieving Track of the Month in The Scotsman for April, to supporting Brooklyn-based female duo Lucius right before that band played on Jools Holland.
Their single 'Honey' received 4 stars in its review in The List with Roddy Hart giving it a spin on his BBC Radio Scotland show. They have took part in various live radio appearances including The Culture Show with Janice Forsyth on BBC Radio Scotland.
In September 2014 The Jellyman's Daughter released their debut album, celebrated with a sold-out Edinburgh launch gig, as well as a host of dates across the UK, from Aberdeen to London. The album sees the duo collaborate with some very talented friends to create a full-band sound for some songs on the album. While the sum of its parts echoes a traditional bluegrass set up – double bass, banjo, mandolin and fiddle – the result on the album is more diverse, each song incorporating a different flavour ranging from gypsy jazz to almost classical string playing, as well as some unmistakable bluegrass banjo picking.
"An excellent collection of songs… Expect great things." The Scotsman
The Jellyman's Daughter's debut album on CD comes in a lovely 3-fold Digipak, complete with full-colour lyric booklet.
All songs written and arranged by The Jellyman's Daughter, with the exception of 'Can't Buy Me Love' written by Lennon/McCartney, and 'Darling Corey', which is a traditional tune. It was mixed by Garry Boyle at The Depot, Edinburgh
And mastered by Andrew Mitchell at Audio Bay

Granger Smith
“Backroads Song” – “One to get up and dance to” - Marie Crichton BBC Radio Shropshire

Most of the time I'm Granger & sometimes I'm @EarlDibblesJr.

On the heels of a week’s worth of sold-out EP release shows, country music star Granger Smith’s debut EP, 4×4, is now out. The four-song project is co-produced by Granger and Frank Rogers, who is a three-time winner of Music Row’s Producer of the Year award and is known for his multi-platinum work with Brad Paisley, Darius Rucker and Scotty McCreery. The EP has already established its magnitude within the country music community, catapulting to #2 of the iTunes Country Album Chart and #6 and climbing on iTunes’ All Genres. The EP’s lead single "Backroad Song" entered the iTunes Country singles chart at #2 with over 32K downloads it’s first week.

Granger’s ‘country-boy’ alter ego Earl Dibbles Jr. has also unveiled his anticipated music video for his part on 4×4, >> "City Boy Stuck." Directed by Brian Lazzaro, the video features Dibbles in his familiar boisterous antics, which have helped garner him a rabid following of 3.5 million and his own weekly segment on CBS Sports Network’s Inside College Football.

Blurb: Over the course of nine albums, at a time when the music industry is undergoing a top-to-bottom transformation, Granger Smith has been building a career that is truly groundbreaking. With sold-out national tours, a social media following of more than three million, and YouTube views nearing 30 million, he has amassed an audience that is unheard-of for a purely independent, unsigned act. He has continually searched for new and innovative ways to connect with his fans and —one by one, room by room — built a national following, culminating when his last album, Dirt Road Driveway, debuted at Number One on the iTunes country chart. Now, with the release of the 4X4 EP, Smith is taking the next step in a voyage that is both visionary and classically old-school.....See more at: grangersmith.com

Ward Davis

“Last Monday In May” - Very profound for veterans Memorial day.. I think that’s such a song..chilling.. a great song - Marie Crichton BBC Radio Shropshire

Genre: Singer/Songwriter Americana/ Alt Country
Home Town: Monticello, AR
Record Label: Hawkville

Ward Davis is an American Singer/Songwriter from Nashville, Tennessee. Born in Monticello, Arkansas, Ward moved to Nashville in 2000 and has since had songs recorded by Trace Adkins, Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, Wade Hayes, Sammy Kershaw, Bucky Covington, Jimmie Van Zant, Buddy Jewel, Carolina Rain, The Roys, and many others. Ward and his band, The Beagles, were featured and performed on the A&E reality series, Crazy Hearts: Nashville in early 2014.
Ward released an EP titled "No Bridges" and worked on a new album with Grammy winning producer, Jim "Moose" Brown.
“15 Years in a 10 Year Town” is a gritty compilation of Americana music that tells a story of redemption. The album takes a step away from the Nashville “Bro Country” culture and gets back to the traditional American music roots. The captivating acoustic experience embraces the mistakes of the past, questions the soul, and finds salvation in love.
Ward Davis’ first Full Length Album, “15 Years in a 10-Year Town,” features 9 brand new original recordings, including 8 self-penned songs and the Ed Bruce classic, “Old Wore Out Cowboys,” a collaboration with Willie Nelson and Jamey Johnson.
The album is set to be released May 19, 2015
