Canteri performs
drums; guitars; and keyboards on the majority of the album, as well as
enlisting the help of highly regarded musicians: Ben Franz (The Waifs, The
Stillsons); Stevie Hesketh (The Drones, Jet), and Justin Bernasconi (The
Stillsons).
Born and raised
in Northcote, Melbourne, multi-instrumentalist Cat Canteri is best known as the
singer-songwriter, drummer in alt-country
group The Stillsons.
Canteri
graduated VCA (Victorian College of Arts) in 2011 and formed The Stillsons in
2006, when she was just nineteen.
2014 saw Canteri
swapping drums for the guitar to launching her debut solo album
MGM and Mountain
King Music proudly announced the release
of said debut WHEN WE WERE YOUNG on Friday 5th September 2014. Produced
by ARIA award winning Craig Pilkington at Audrey Studios it was recorded and
mixed over 2012, and 2013.

Growing up in
White Bluff, Tennessee…Sunday afternoon
at the Fleet house meant getting
family and friends together for a little back
porch music potluck. It always served up a plateful of Gospel, Bluegrass and
Country music. It sure did spark an interest in young Larry, and with the help
of renowned guitarist Kerry “Doc” Stone he learned to play. By the age of 7, he
was invited to perform at the world famous Ryman Auditorium where he played
guitar in a Bluegrass group performing the classics, “Orange Blossom Special”
and “Wildwood Flower”.
The traditional
country sounds of Merle Haggard, Vern Gosdin and Randy Travis all influenced
Larry, but when a family friend requested that he play, “Sitting On The Dock Of
The Bay” he became introduced to a whole new world of music. The smooth styles
of Otis Redding, the Temptations and Muddy Waters continued to shape him.
"Damn This
Storm" is the initial single from Larry Fleet, with a Sept 15th impact
date, with a music video being filmed 8/20.
